Briohny and Dice of Bryce Yoga have been teaching Yoga together for almost a decade. Their love for the practice shines through in their teachings and their lives. They specialize in guiding students towards a deeper connection with their body through a thorough study of how Yoga Asana effects the muscles and joints.
They love teaching the foundation of alignment in basic postures to help students get stronger mentally and physically, preparing them for advanced asana and an intelligent, lifelong Yoga journey.
This Yoga Alliance certified training is designed for yoga teachers who thirst to immerse themselves in the modern practice and teaching of this ancient practice of Yoga . Through foundational focus on the practice and teaching or the advanced asanas practice, adjustments and alignment, practice teaching, self realization and discovery through ancient teachings, and lengthy discussions of the modern business of yoga, your knowledge and confidence and a teacher will expand.
We recommend that trainees be 200hr certified and have at least 6 months of consistent teaching experience. This can include anything from public classes, privates, corporate classes, online videos, or charity classes. The instruction will take deeper root if you’ve had some teaching experience under your belt.
This 300 hour teacher training is an immersive experience that fosters the space for personal and professional transformation. Training days will be filled with Yoga practice, lectures, Asana clinics, Pranyama & Meditation and much more. Students will have 1 day off every 6 days to ensure they have time to relax and rest their bodies. However, optional morning practices will be offered on these days. Although we work hard, we encourage students to listen to their bodies and rest or observe practices when needed. Students do NOT need to be able to do inversions or arm balances to take this training. However, they will leave with a deeper understanding of how to incorporate these advanced postures in their own practice and teachings.
The daily practices are dedicated to challenging students and strengthening our foundation. Students will practice heightening the mind/body connection, deepening the breath, and finding balance between strength and flexibility. We will sweat profusely and cultivate a spirit of lighthearted play and fun through creative Vinyasa flow sequencing, arm balances, and inversions. Most daily practices will begin or end with light pranayama and meditation.
The Yoga world is filled with alignment cues and alignment belief systems that sometimes contradict one another. How many times have you had a teacher tell you one thing, only to have another teacher tell you the opposite? Through our daily asana alignment study, we will focus on individual postures and highlight the common misalignments, study the effects of the pose on the body, talk about alignment cue trends, and give students the opportunity to practice teach the FitFlowFly alignment cues, teaching aids, and adjustments.
Inversions and arm balances are a growing trend in yoga classes around the globe. We love them because they challenge us physically and mentally, but many teachers do not feel confident teaching these advanced poses unless they understand them in their personal practice. In this training, we will work daily on giving trainees the tools they need to understand the journey towards these advanced postures. These tools include interactive strength and flexibility exercises, partner inversion work, and independent wall and prop use. We will also help trainees cultivate their confidence in guiding their students into these postures with effective class sequencing, safe spotting, adjustments, and efficient verbal cues.
Yoga tends to be a solo practice, and it’s very easy for students to keep to themselves in a yoga class. With the escalating popularity of yoga, we’ve been receiving many inquiries from teachers in regards to how to cultivate connection within class while still respecting that sacred privacy. We’ve found that Acro/Partner Yoga is a powerful, healthy tool to integrate into our classes. We like to blend partner exercises and stretches into our yoga classes, but always clarify that this is optional. Acro/Partner Yoga is also a wonderful way for trainees to learn a new modality and meet other trainees on the course.
We believe that hands-on adjustments are a valuable instrument of communication for a teacher. Through touch, the teacher guides their student towards the correct engagement and lengthening needed in a posture. Students will learn safe and effective adjustments and spotting tools that will help them approach hands-on adjusting in a knowledgeable and respectful way.
Creative Vinyasa sequencing is one of our favorite ways to express ourselves. Through our daily sequencing lectures, we will breakdown each morning practice so trainees receive insight into our sequencing thought process. We will also cover a variety of sequencing techniques for workshops, privates, and explore this topic from an asana, body part, and emotional peak.
Teaching workshops is one of the best ways to expand your offerings as a yoga teacher. Workshops strengthen the necessary experience required to travel outside of your community and share your yoga teachings. They also provide a great stepping stone toward learning how to teach Yoga Teacher Trainings. In this module, Dice and Bri will share the knowledge and experience they’ve collected over the last six years teaching workshops and trainings internationally. You will learn how to sequence workshops, key spots and assists, important structuring techniques, and all of the marketing and PR secrets for social media platforms.
Practitioners around the world reap the physical benefits of yoga, assuming poses and frequently calling them by their Sanskrit names. While many know that hanumanasana is named for the deity Hanuman, few understand why this is the case. Behind each asana and its corresponding movements is an ancient story about a god, sage, or sacred animal, much like Aesop’s fables or European folktales. The myths behind yoga’s spiritual tradition have the power to help students of all levels realize their full potential. Meditating on the tolerance of trees while standing in tree pose can help one become more tolerant. Learning how the disfigured sage Astavakra came to be the teacher of a king can liberate us from anxieties about our external appearance and our self imposed limitations. Marveling at Hanuman’s devotion to Ram can serve as a source of spiritual strength and determination. Myths of the Asanas will add a new dimension to your practice and study of yoga. – Taken from the book “Myths of the Asana” by Alanna Kaivalya (book required)
Many of us modern yogis look to yoga for its physical benefits, but yoga tradition spans far beyond just the physical. In this module, we will cover key aspects of Yoga history, philosophy, and traditions such as pranayama, meditation, kriyas, chakras, and kirtan. Through daily practical use, you will learn accessible ways to integrate these traditions and philosophies into your own practices and how to mindfully introduce these concepts to your students.
Over the past 10 years, Yoga as a business industry has grown exponentially. What was once a small-scale industry with a very limited, particular outreach has transformed into a booming business with abundant opportunities for entrepreneurs, teachers, clothing & accessory designers, management consultants, online personalities, healers, therapists, world travelers and more. You will receive the chance to hear from each faculty member on the business of Yoga throughout the training. The topics we will cover include:
Pictures truly are worth a thousand words. They communicate the essence of your yoga practice and teachings. Images are as important as business cards in this day and age, and it is vital to have professional photos readily available for headshots, websites, bio pages, and social media accounts. Not only will you receive a personal photo session on this retreat, we will also lead a workshop rich with tips on how to capture your photos and videos simply, effectively, and beautifully.
In addition to all of the modules and daily offerings for your teachings, we would love for this experience to be an opportunity to deepen your connection to the SELF. Through daily yoga philosophy chats we will weave in concepts that help apply ancient yoga philosophy to daily life.
Part of the growth process in a 300-hr training is the ability to have your teachers as mentors. Your lead teachers will meet individually with each trainee to discuss and advise on any personal or professional aspects of your life and yoga journey.
